Vigilate Mecum
Young Adults
Who are we?
We are a Catholic Young Adult Group (ages 18-39) seeking to grow in deeper relationship with Christ, the Faith, and other Catholic young adults through discussion and events!
You may ask “Why call it ‘Vigilate Mecum’?” We know it’s a difficult phrase to say, but it’s packed with a rich meaning – Keep Watch with Me (Peter 3:15). We chose this name because it really sums up our mission. In a world that is falling asleep and away from the faith, we want to STAY AWAKE in our faith and grow closer to Christ so we can encourage the world, and even those in our lives, to do the same!
Our Story
VM began back in 2015 with two college graduate friends, Kristi Elsen & TJ McGuire. Their vision was to create a safe environment for Catholic Young Adults to share and discuss important topics within the Catholic Faith and grow in fellowship! They hosted weekly Faith discussion nights, bi-annual swing dances, an annual chili cook-off, among other events!
Since then, Kristi and TJ have moved on to married life and busy themselves with their own families, but their legacy lives on! A group of us young adults took over VM in 2018 and we continue to host events and discussion nights for all young adults ages 18-39 hoping to find community and fellowship with other young adults!
So… without further a-do, check out what we’ve got coming up soon!
